Laboratories
Concateno has three UKAS accredited laboratories, each dedicated to the analysis of a specific sample type – oral fluid (Abingdon, Oxfordshire), urine (Canary Wharf, London), and hair (Cardiff, Wales).
These laboratories can also handle other sample types such as blood if required.
Services
We provide a complete service for drugs of abuse testing comprising sample collection, laboratory analysis and the reporting of test results.
Sample Collection
Our easy to use sample collection kits contain everything that is required to collect a sample and send it to our laboratories. Our Chain of Custody kits enable the laboratory to confirm that the sample has not been tampered with - a necessary requirement if the result is going to be used for evidential purposes.
Screening Services
Samples undergo one or two separate tests. The first (screening) is by immunoassay which rapidly identifies negative samples. Results that screen negative are reported either by email, fax, post or the on-line Retriever service.
Gold Standard Confirmations to ISO/IEC 17025:2005
Samples that screen positive may then require further testing to identify with precision the drugs present in the sample. Concateno offers an unrivalled confirmation service for all sample types using the latest technology including:
• GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry)
• GC-MS/MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry/Mass Spectrometry)
• LC-MS/MS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry/Mass Spectrometry)
These methods are the ‘Gold Standard’ in drug testing and provide results that are fully defensible in a court of law, or industrial tribunal.
