Concateno was admitted to AIM on 7th April 2005 and the company strategy is to acquire and consolidate businesses in the drug and alcohol testing sector.   Central to the company’s strategy is the belief of the Directors that the need for greater scale and efficiency will lead to consolidation of businesses. Concateno is well placed to benefit from such a consolidation.

In November 2006 Concateno completed its first acquisition with the purchase of Medscreen Ltd (Europe's leading provider of legally defensible drug and alcohol abuse testing in the workplace).  This was followed with the acquisition of Altrix Healthcare Ltd (one of Europe's leading providers of oral fluid based testing) in January 2007, TrichoTech Ltd (the UK's leading hair testing provider) in February 2007, Euromed Ltd (a leading provider of diagnostic tests for drugs of misuse) in April 2007 and most recently it has completed its first international acquisition with the purchase of Swedish-based Marconova (a company which helps organisations with measures to prevent substance abuse in working life) in May 2007.  In July 2007 Concateno acquired worldwide drug and alcohol screening company CPL International then more recently in September 2007, we announced the acquisition of Cozart plc, a medical diagnostics company specialising in drugs of abuse detection.

Concateno's acquisition of Marconova represents the expansion of Concateno’s drug and alcohol testing operations into Europe. The Swedish market for drug and alcohol testing is the next most established market in Europe after the UK and is growing due to developing legislation and regulation.
