Hair FAEE & EtG Alcohol Testing
Concateno offers combined testing for ethyl glucuronide (EtG) and fatty acid ethyl esters (FAEE) as an aid in assessing chronic, excessive alcohol use. Both EtG and FAEE are metabolites of alcohol present in hair after the breakdown of alcohol in the body.
The TrichoTest® hair analysis for EtG and FAEE can cover up to a 6 month period. We recommend using a 3cm section of scalp hair representing an approximate 3 month period, however in line with the Consensus of the Society of Hair Testing (SoHT) on testing hair for chronic excessive alcohol consumption we can test up to 6cm, representing an approximate 6 month period. Using the combination of both EtG and FAEE testing may provide more information about chronic excessive alcohol use. We also have an alcohol blood test available as well as alcohol breath testers.

- Analysis of up to a 6cm length of hair
