In cases where the detection of chronic excessive use is needed, our scientists recommend that a hair alcohol FAEE and EtG test should be used corroboratively alongside other tests, such as CDT and LF blood tests.

This is in line with the consensus on hair testing for chronic excessive alcohol consumption 2011, from the Society of Hair Testing, who state that hair testing for alcohol markers should not be used in isolation.
