Point of Care Testing
Point of Care Testing (POCT) is carried out beside or near to the individual being tested, immediately after they have provided a sample for detection. The benefits of point of care testing come from having the results in minutes. Concateno provides POCT products suitable for testing oral fluid or urine. We also provide point of care tests for the detection of drugs of abuse in powders, tablets, resins and liquids, as well as on surfaces.
The Cozart® DDS® is a portable drug testing unit manufactured by Concateno that has successfully won competitive tenders around the world where it has met the requirements for an on-site drug test screening programme.
In the UK, Concateno has won by competitive tender the right to continue to supply the DDS® for Home Office's Drug Intervention Programme (DIP). You can read about it on the Home Office's web site here.
This programme carries out approx. 240,000 tests annually using the DDS in over 170 police stations across England and Wales. As a result, about 4,000 people a month are offered places on drug addiction treatment courses.
