Most of our customers order a hair test as part of their family law or social work case where they need to ascertain a parent's or guardian's drug history and/or chronic excessive alcohol use.

Our hair tests are used here because of the longer window of detection they offer over alternative methods of drug or alcohol testing. Tests are used to highlight trends of drug use, prove abstinence or gain evidence of use. A hair alcohol test can provide information on chronic excessive alcohol use and for this purpose, should be used in combination with other tests, such as an alcohol blood test or/and a clinical assessment.

Customer Service

At any stage in the process we are on hand to help, we can assist with advice on tailoring the testing to suit the case and answer questions about the testing process. Although we have a team dedicated to customer service, you can also contact our onsite reporting scientists to answer more detailed questions about results.

Expert Consultation

Concateno TrichoTech has a team of reporting scientists who interpret results, provide Expert Witness Reports and who make court appearances as requested. The team is experienced in the field of drug and alcohol testing and prepare approximately 400 reports each month.

CPD Training

We have identified that solicitors, social workers and judges ordering and using this testing need to have the most up-to-date understanding of its strengths, limitations and applications. Therefore we provide educational, non-commercial seminars and presentations to these professionals throughout the UK upon request.

Accreditation

Concateno has four laboratories which specialise in the analysis of hair, urine and oral fluid samples, and the manufacturing of laboratory products. Each testing facility is accredited by UKAS to the International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005. This standard of accreditation is awarded to testing laboratories following a number of assessments and show the testing methods used are of a high standard. One of our trained collecting officers will come and collect the sample. If you have opted to collect the sample yourself or have arranged to have a GP collect it, then we'll send a kit in the post and a confirmation fax.
